Exclusivo: Nicole Scherzinger revela que o título de seu novo album, "Big Fat Lie", é sobre seu transtorno alimentar.

"Eu acho que eu, finalmente estou confortável e confiante o suficiente em minha pele, onde eu sou capaz de realmente falar sobre algumas coisas que eu sempre escondi", Scherzinger disse ao Digital Spy. Nicole vai lançar seu novo single " On The Rocks" no Reino Unido no dia 12 de Outubro, enquanto Big Fat Lie seguirá no dia 20.

Nicole Scherzinger has spoken about the meaning behind her new album title. The singer will release Big Fat Lie as her second solo collection and revealed that the name - and accompanying track - was inspired by her struggles with an eating disorder.

"I guess it's me finally being comfortable and confident enough in my skin where I'm able to really talk about some of the things that I always concealed," Scherzinger told Digital Spy. This is me finally being revealed. I think we all have our own big fat lies. The lies that we tell ourselves. You know, things aren't always what they seem. I think people will be able to relate to that.

"Part of where it came from is battling with an eating disorder for many years and recently, in the past few years, it's come out and people were talking to me about that. I realised that, even though it was a hard subject for me to talk about, when I did I was able to help other people and inspire other people battling any disorders or any diseases themselves."


Scherzinger continued: "I noticed I had not really addressed that on the album and 'Big Fat Lie', I went to The Dream with that personally and I was like: 'This is a big part of who I am and what has gotten me here. And what has gotten me to this place of strength.'

"I decided to title the album that because things aren't always what they seem. Facing those issues head-on is what has gotten me to my most authentic place now and a courageous place to be able to talk about it a lot and deal with it. Everybody's wanting that, everybody's wanting that peace, everyone's wanting clarity and acceptance in their life." Scherzinger added that she doesn't find revisiting those moments with her music difficult, but rather sees it as a form of release.

"It's therapy for me," she said. "It's so freeing and so liberating for me to create. That's the only positive thing is you can create, you know. Create something beautiful from maybe something that wasn't once so beautiful."

Scherzinger will release her new single 'On The Rocks' in the UK on October 12, while Big Fat Lie will follow on October 20.
